Let It Be What It Wants To Be
(Poem)

by
Yamila Coby
Atlanta, Georgia

Let it grow with no roots
Let it shine with no glitters
Let it dance with no music
Let it be
Let it be
Let it choose a man
Let it be black and white
Let it be what it wants to be
Let it choose to be a god, even knowing there’s only one God
Let it change its own path
Let it turn into fire
Let it burn what was already burned
Let it be
Let it be
Let it be a flower that grew under the sea
Let it be a devil with a white dress
Just let it choose its own vocation
Let it be
Let it be
