Community Images

Community Images (CI) encourages the advancement of artists from communities underrepresented and seeks to promote better understanding among our many and diverse cultures.

Program

  • CI is a member centered, supportive, and creative program
  • Our program teaches members photographic techniques, darkroom skills, and artistic expression
  • The program offers photography workshops and presentations, a website, and photography exhibitions.
  • We meet regularly at the San Francisco Photography Center.
  • It is our hope that the skills learned through CI will expand the photographers artistic vision and our society’s knowledge of the world.

San Francisco and Osaka Photo Exchange

CI is in the process of organizing a photographic cultural exchange project in conjunction with the San Francisco Photo Center. We will host college photography students and young adults from Osaka, Japan and Taegu, South Korea every other year and CI will visit Japan on the alternative years. We encourage fellow photographers to contribute photographs to our website. To participate, you can submit up to five photographs, and title and captions for each photograph as well as your biography. We ask that you submit photographs that are related to our mission or vision.
